Golden Knights Fall 3-2 in a Shootout in Boston: Pastrnak's Third-Round Goal Settles a Game Vegas Fought Back to Tie
The final from TD Garden: Vegas trailed 2-0, tied it on Trevor Connelly's third-period goal, survived overtime — and lost the shootout 1-0 when David Pastrnak scored in the third round. The Knights take a point into Tuesday's back-to-back finish at Pittsburgh.

The Vegas Golden Knights lost 3-2 to the Boston Bruins in a shootout on Monday night at TD Garden, after rallying from two goals down to force overtime. Regulation and overtime ended 2-2, and David Pastrnak scored the shootout's only goal in the third round — after Jeremy Swayman had stopped Trevor Connelly and Jack Eichel, Mitch Marner's attempt hit the post, and Carter Hart turned aside Boston's first two shooters.
Boston built its lead first. James Hagens opened the scoring midway through the first period, assisted by Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov, and Morgan Geekie doubled it on a second-period power play, assisted by Pavel Zacha and Pastrnak. Vegas answered in the same period with a power-play goal of its own — back-to-back games with a power-play goal for the captain, in the Knights' account — and Connelly tied the game in the third, assisted by Noah Hanifin and Marner, after Hart's glove had kept a tying chance out at the other end.
The point softens the loss but does not change the shape of the trip. Vegas, 9-5-1 entering the night, opened a back-to-back in Boston and finishes it Tuesday at Pittsburgh, with Hart having carried the net through a scoreless overtime and a shootout that turned on one post and one third-round finish. Monday's first-period file (SQ-20261102-061) now has its final: a comeback that earned a point, on a night when two would have required one more shootout save.
