Las Vegas Weather: Sunday Rain at 95 Percent, and a Flood Watch Runs for Henderson and Lake Las Vegas Until Monday (Las Vegas Strip News)

Sunday opened wet across the Las Vegas Valley. The station's live weather feed read 56.5 degrees with light rain conditions early Sunday, and it puts the day's precipitation chance at 95 percent with a high of 65.5 degrees and a low of 50.7 — the wettest reading of the season so far, carried over from Saturday night's storm system. Henderson's hourly forecast, read this cycle, showed rain through the morning hours before skies begin to clear in the afternoon.

The National Weather Service flood watch for the Henderson and Lake Las Vegas area runs until 4 a.m. Monday, after a weekend that already brought flash flooding, water rescues and a road closure on Lake Mead Parkway to the southeast valley on Friday. Drivers are urged to treat flowing washes and flooded low-water crossings with caution and never to drive through standing water — the same guidance the weather service issued with Friday's advisory for eastern Henderson and Lake Las Vegas.

The rain does not linger. The station feed turns the valley dry from Monday onward: Monday reaches 70.2 degrees with a 1 percent rain chance, Tuesday is dry at 68.2, and the rest of the week runs dry and mild, topping out at 73.6 degrees on Saturday. Sunday also brings the first early sunset of the season after the clocks fell back overnight — sunset in Henderson comes at 4:43 p.m.
