When Do Clocks Fall Back in Las Vegas? Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday at 2 A.M.
Las Vegas gains an hour overnight as daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 — and the earlier darkness is exactly why valley safety officials launched the #Dusk2Dawn pedestrian campaign this week.

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, Nov. 1, when clocks move back one hour to 1 a.m. and Las Vegas returns to standard time. It is the earliest date the change can fall — the first Sunday in November — and most people will set clocks back before bed on Saturday, Oct. 31, and gain an hour overnight. Sunrise and sunset both shift about an hour earlier by the clock: the valley's Saturday sunset at 5:45 p.m. becomes a Sunday sunset at about 4:44 p.m.
The earlier evening darkness is the local safety story. Figures from PedSafe Vegas and the UNLV Transportation Research Center, reported this week as officials launched the #Dusk2Dawn awareness campaign, show 64 pedestrians have been killed in the Las Vegas area so far this year — an 8 percent decrease from the same period in 2025 — but October alone accounts for 10 of those deaths, and eight of them happened after the sun went down.
The campaign launched Wednesday, Oct. 28, at University Center Drive and Flamingo Road. PedSafe Vegas identifies Flamingo Road as the deadliest stretch for pedestrians over the past five years, with 29 pedestrians killed along Flamingo from Jan. 1, 2021 through June 2026, and the segment between Paradise Road and University Center Drive especially dangerous. With darkness settling earlier from Sunday, officials are asking drivers and pedestrians alike to share responsibility for keeping walkers safe.
