Golden Knights' Offense Goes Cold: Four Losses in Five as the Road Trip Opens in Boston
Vegas has scored just 11 goals in five games after opening 8-2 — and now a four-game Atlantic Division trip, starting Monday in Boston, tests whether the slump is a blip or a pattern.

The Vegas Golden Knights have hit their first real cold stretch of the season. Vegas has lost four of its last five games, including Friday's 5-2 home loss to New Jersey, and has managed just 11 goals during that five-game stretch, with only six coming at five-on-five, according to the reports read this cycle.
The contrast with the start is sharp. Vegas opened the campaign 8-2 and scored 41 goals through its first 10 games, looking like one of the league's most dangerous offensive teams. Even Tuesday's 4-1 win over Ottawa offered little evidence, in those reports, that the five-on-five scoring problems had been solved.
One line has kept producing: Mitch Marner extended his point streak to nine games on Friday with two assists, giving him 15 points in October on two goals and 13 assists. Goaltender Adin Hill's form has swung the other way, following a .962 save-percentage performance against Ottawa with an .871 outing against the Devils.
There is no home reset waiting. Vegas has the weekend off, then opens a four-game road trip through the Atlantic Division on Monday against the Boston Bruins, with puck drop scheduled for 4 p.m. Pacific. How the Knights score on that trip will say more about this team than the hot start did.
