Las Vegas Weather: 58 Degrees Sunday Night as the Rain Ends, and Election Day Dawns Dry at 69.3

The wettest weekend of the fall is winding down. Las Vegas sat at 58 degrees on Sunday evening with the day's rain chance at 95 percent spent, the Henderson and Lake Las Vegas flood watch runs to 4 a.m. Monday, and then the valley dries out completely — 69.1 and dry Monday, 69.3 and dry for Election Day Tuesday, and no rain in the forecast through Saturday.

Las Vegas Weather: 58 Degrees Sunday Night as the Rain Ends, and Election Day Dawns Dry at 69.3 (Las Vegas Strip News)

Sunday's rain is finishing its work. The station's live weather feed read 58.0 degrees on Sunday evening, feeling like 53.8 under overcast skies, closing a day that topped out at 66.2 with a 95 percent rain chance — the tail of the storm stretch that flooded valley streets on Friday, pushed Las Vegas to a tie for its second-wettest October on record, and kept washes running through the weekend. The flood watch for Henderson and Lake Las Vegas remains in effect until 4 a.m. Monday, and drivers should still treat low crossings and washes with care overnight: water that fell on Saturday and Sunday is still moving.

Monday turns the page. The forecast high is 69.1 degrees with no rain, and Tuesday — Election Day, with Clark County vote centers open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. — is dry at 69.3, so weather will be no excuse and no obstacle at the polls. Overnight lows along the way dip to 50.3 Monday night and 48.8 Tuesday night, the coolest readings of the week.

The rest of the week is the desert reasserting itself: Wednesday 71.4, Thursday 67.8, Friday 72.3 and Saturday 74.1, every day dry. After a Halloween weekend of flooded streets, water rescues and a 1.31-inch October, Las Vegas gets a full week to dry out — and the only water story left is how long the washes keep running after the flood watch expires Monday morning.
