Election Eve in Las Vegas: Monday Is a Drop-Off Day, Not a Mail Day — Clark County's Election Office Is Open 7:30 to 5:30

With Election Day on Tuesday, the guidance for Clark County voters holding a mail ballot is simple: do not put it in the mail now. The Election Department in North Las Vegas takes drop-offs Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Boulder City's City Hall takes them 7 to 6, and every vote center takes them Tuesday until 7 p.m.

Election Eve in Las Vegas: Monday Is a Drop-Off Day, Not a Mail Day — Clark County's Election Office Is Open 7:30 to 5:30 (Las Vegas Strip News)

Monday, November 2 is the last full day before Election Day, and for a voter still holding a mail ballot, the calendar changes the right move. Voter guides for Clark County are blunt about it: do not mail the ballot now, because it may not arrive in time — bring it to a vote center or a drop-off location instead. The Clark County Election Department's own schedule gives Monday's main door: its office at 965 Trade Drive in North Las Vegas accepts mail-ballot drop-offs every day through November 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and then through Election Day itself, Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The county's drop-off map is wider than one office. Boulder City's City Hall, at 401 California Avenue, takes drop-offs on Monday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and again on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and city clerk locations in Henderson and elsewhere run their own Monday hours on the county list. On Tuesday the system opens fully: more than 100 Election Day vote centers across the county, every one open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., every one also a mail-ballot drop-off point until 7 p.m., and any registered Clark County voter may use any center in the county — there are no assigned precinct polling places.

Two deadlines ride along with the drop-off advice. A voter who is in line by 7 p.m. Tuesday may still vote, and Nevada's same-day registration remains available in person at a voting site through Election Day with a Nevada driver's license, a Nevada ID, a DMV interim document or a tribal ID. And a mail ballot that arrives with a signature problem is not lost on Tuesday night: the cure deadline runs to 5 p.m. on Monday, November 9. The Election Department answers questions at 702-455-VOTE (8683). Polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Nevada Mail Ballots: Postmarked by Tuesday, Received by Saturday — and Why Dropping Yours Off Is Now the Safe Play

Every active Nevada voter was mailed a ballot. The rules from here are simple and strict: a mailed ballot must be postmarked by Election Day, Tuesday November 3, and received by 5 p.m. Saturday November 7 — while a ballot dropped at a vote center or drop box must be in by 7 p.m. Tuesday. Officials have urged voters since October 27 to drop ballots off in person rather than trust the mail.
