John Washington III Asks How Politicians Can Claim to Work for the People When They Never Fight for the People
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, asked where the fight is when police abuse authority, when property taxes follow families for life, and when officials campaign on lowering taxes and then vote to raise them.

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, asked how politicians can claim to work for the people when they never fight for the people. He wrote that every election season brings the same claims — "I'M WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE!" and "I'M FIGHTING FOR THE PEOPLE!" — and he asked, "WHERE IS THE FIGHT?"
On public safety and taxes, John Washington III asked why politicians who claim to represent the people are not fighting to hold corrupt police officers accountable, and why they talk about lowering property taxes but never seriously discuss ending property taxes on the homes people own and live in. "Why should an American family spend 20 or 30 years paying off their home, only to continue paying property taxes on that same home for the rest of their lives?" he wrote. "WHEN DO THE PEOPLE ACTUALLY GET TO OWN WHAT THEY WORKED THEIR ENTIRE LIVES TO PAY FOR?"
He also asked how a politician can campaign on lowering property taxes, get elected, and then vote for tax increases, and how many citizens even know what is being voted on. He closed by demanding transparency, accountability and representation: "You cannot stand in front of cameras during election season claiming you're fighting for the people, then get into office and ignore the very issues affecting their everyday lives!" he wrote.
