Halloween Costumes 2026: Buddy the Unicorn Tops Google's Trending List on Las Vegas's Biggest Costume Night
Google's Frightgeist rankings put a killer unicorn, a squishy stress ball and a Greek king at the top of America's costume searches for 2026 — the list Las Vegas shoppers were still chasing on Halloween night.

The most-searched Halloween costume of 2026 is not a vampire or a superhero. Google's annual Frightgeist report, which ranks the costumes rising fastest in United States searches, puts Buddy the Unicorn — the killer mascot from the horror movie Buddy — at No. 1, followed by NeeDoh, the squishy stress-ball toy, and Nikki from Obsession, according to the published rankings.
The rest of the national top 10 is Agamemnon from The Odyssey at No. 4, Lily Love Braids from Poppy Playtime at No. 5, Oliver Tree at No. 6, Verity from Minecraft at No. 7, Carl from Dungeon Crawler Carl at No. 8, Disco Scooby-Doo at No. 9 and Hazel Hook from Descendants at No. 10. The lists split by audience: Dolly Parton is the No. 1 trending costume for kids, Centipede leads for pets, and Disco Scooby and Shaggy are the top couples search, the reports said.
In Las Vegas, the searches landed on the valley's biggest costume night of the year: Halloween fell on a Saturday, with the Fremont Street Experience costume contest downtown and trunk-or-treats and HallOVeen running across the valley into the night, as this station reported earlier Saturday. Frightgeist rankings compare search interest in September 2026 against September 2025, so they show what is trending — not necessarily what most people are wearing.
