John Washington III Says Politicians' Battles Are Not the People's Responsibility
John Washington III argued that elected officials who spent years passing laws that took money from people's pockets and stripped away rights cannot now ask those same people to stand up and fight for their careers, saying he is fighting for the people, not for politicians.

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, has drawn a line between the public and the politicians who represent it. "For years, politicians have passed laws that take more money from our pockets and strip away our rights," he wrote. "But now that the same corrupt system is coming after you, suddenly you want the American people to stand up and fight for you?"
"Where were you when we needed you?" John Washington III wrote. He said voters elect officials to fight for them, not to become part of the system hurting them, and that every election those officials ask for votes, money and loyalty before turning their backs on the people once they win. "What do we have to show for it?" he wrote.
John Washington III said he is done fighting to save political careers while everyday Americans struggle to protect their rights and freedoms. "Your political battles are not our responsibility," he wrote. "I'm fighting for the people, not politicians who forgot who they work for. You work for us. We don't work for you." He closed with the line that titles his candidacy's message: "The people come first. Period."
