Life in Death Festival Marks 25 Years of Día de los Muertos in Las Vegas on Sunday and Monday
Clark County's 25th Annual Life in Death Festival runs Nov. 1-2 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center — free, all ages, with folkloric dance, crafts, workshops and an art exhibit.

The valley's Día de los Muertos celebration turns 25 this weekend. Clark County Parks and Recreation's 25th Annual Life in Death Festival runs Sunday and Monday, Nov. 1-2, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center, 3130 South McLeod Drive, according to the county's listing. The festival is free and open to all ages.
The county describes a celebration of Día de los Muertos traditions, art and community, with folkloric dance performances, demonstrations, traditional crafts, workshops, children's activities and an art exhibit. The program also traces how the festival began and the cultural significance of the holiday — the days when families remember and honor people who have died.
The festival gives Las Vegas a second, quieter gathering right after Halloween night: where Saturday belonged to costumes and contests, Sunday and Monday belong to remembrance. Families planning to go should note the 4 p.m. start on both days and the free admission, per the county listing.
