No School Tuesday for CCSD Students — Election Day Is a Staff Development Day, and November Has Four More Days Off Coming
Clark County School District students have Tuesday, November 3 off — Election Day doubles as a staff development day — and families should plan around a month that also closes schools on November 11 and for three days at Thanksgiving. Monday and the rest of this week, classes run as normal.

Tuesday is a school holiday that is not about the students. The Clark County School District's 2026-27 student calendar marks Tuesday, November 3 — Election Day — as a staff development day with no school for students, a scheduling choice that frees school buildings and staff schedules on the day Clark County opens more than 100 vote centers from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Families voting Tuesday should not assume their neighborhood school is their vote center, however: the district day off is a calendar fact, not a polling-place guarantee, and the county's vote-center list is the authority.
November's remaining closures come in two clusters. Wednesday, November 11 is Veterans Day, with no school. Thanksgiving week is shorter than it looks: Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24 are regular school days, and the district closes Wednesday, November 25 — listed as its First Contingency Day, meaning it could be reclaimed as a makeup day if the district needs one — Thursday, November 26 for Thanksgiving, and Friday, November 27 for Family Day.
For parents, the practical calendar is this: a one-day break Tuesday, a one-day break the following Wednesday, then a three-day Thanksgiving closure at month's end with two normal school days immediately before it. Childcare for Tuesday is the immediate problem — and it lands on the same day parents are being urged to find an hour to vote, which is either a conflict or, for families who bring their kids along to the vote center, the civics lesson the calendar quietly arranged.
