John Washington III Says Judges Must Put the Constitution and the People First
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, raised what he called a conflict of interest in the courts, arguing that judges too often seem to serve their office instead of the people and that constitutional rights do not get a fair look.

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, raised what he called a conflict of interest in the nation's courts. He wrote that state judges are bound by the U.S. Constitution and that in Texas they also swear to uphold the state constitution, and he asked why, in his words, the constitution that should come first too often gets overlooked.
John Washington III said people walk into court again and again and feel their constitutional rights do not get a fair look, and he asked why outcomes can feel pre-decided. He also asked why loyalty to an office seems to matter more than loyalty to the people. "They ask for your vote, then serve their office instead of the people," he wrote. "That's not justice. That's not acceptable."
He closed by saying the people deserve judges who put the Constitution and the people first. The statement is the latest in a series of written posts in which John Washington III has argued that public officials answer to the voters who elected them, a theme he has carried through his 2028 campaign.
