UCLA vs. Arizona Final Score: Bruins Beat the Wildcats 84-75 at T-Mobile Arena Despite Kharchenkov's 38 Points (Las Vegas Strip News)

No. 22 UCLA beat No. 5 Arizona 84-75 on Monday night at T-Mobile Arena, closing the Hall of Fame Series in Las Vegas with an opening-night win over its former Pac-12 rival. Trent Perry scored 21 points, making all 11 of his free throws, and the Bruins held on after a lead that once stood at 16 points was cut to a single point late in the second half.

UCLA took charge early, breaking a tie with a 14-point run to go up 27-13 and taking a 43-29 lead into halftime. Eric Dailey Jr. and Jalen Petty added 13 points apiece — Petty with seven rebounds and seven assists, Dailey with eight rebounds — and Xavier Booker's basket to open the second half pushed the margin to 45-29, the biggest of the game. Arizona's Ivan Kharchenkov kept the Wildcats alive almost single-handedly, scoring a career-best 38 points with 10 rebounds, topping his previous best of 20, while Derek Dixon added 18.

The comeback nearly landed. Trailing by 11 with just over five minutes left, Arizona ripped off 10 straight points and came within one at 71-70 on Kharchenkov free throws with 3:11 remaining. UCLA answered — Booker hit a 3-pointer for 74-70, and after Dixon cut it to 78-75 with 1:06 left, a long inbounds pass to Dailey for a breakaway dunk and two late free throws sealed it. It was the teams' first meeting at T-Mobile Arena since Arizona beat UCLA in the 2023 Pac-12 tournament final. Arizona hosts Cal Poly on Thursday; UCLA hosts North Florida on Friday. Monday's live file (SQ-20261102-070) now has its final.
